亚洲色吧’s Fall Open House is Nov. 1

SIDNEY鈥斕鼸njoy听food,听drinks听and free admission to the season-opening basketball games at 亚洲色吧 during our Fall Open House Nov. 1.听
The open house听runs听from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on 亚洲色吧鈥檚 Sidney campus.听Upon check-in with student representatives, attendees can pick up a detailed campus map.听Activities will be spread across听campus, with听tours mostly being听self-guided.听
A听complimentary lemonade bar听will welcome attendees听as听they enter the听Donald C. Burns Administration Building,听where听student services staff听will be available to answer questions about admissions,听registration听and financial aid.听Attendees who are at least 25 years old and who have a high school diploma, but not a college degree, are eligible for the听Michigan听Reconnect program.听
鈥淢embers of our financial aid office will be on-hand to help people with Michigan Reconnect questions and can help fill out the application,鈥� said Kayla Beckett, 亚洲色吧 Admissions Representative.听鈥淲e鈥檒l听also have a table with Michigan Reconnect information that guests can take to give to friends or family members that may qualify.鈥�听
Select faculty will听be available to听promote听their programs and听share听what听it鈥檚听like to be a student at 亚洲色吧.听It鈥檚听a great opportunity听for instructors to share their passion with prospective students, a favorite element for Admissions Representative Taryn Muilenburg.听
鈥淎ny time I have a faculty member come and talk about their program and 亚洲色吧 as a whole or what community college means to them, I get energized by what they鈥檙e saying,鈥� Muilenburg said. 鈥淚f they can have that effect on me, someone听who鈥檚听been working here for 10 years, imagine the impact they can have on the students.鈥�听
Student club听representatives听will also be on campus to promote their clubs and the activities they engage in. In addition, Ashley Reisbig, Educational Careers Instructor at the 亚洲色吧 Area Career Center, will bring students from her class听for a family-friendly activity, taking place in the Kenneth J. Smith Instructional Building.听
During听breaks from the action, attendees and one guest听can enjoy听free access to the two food trucks on campus听鈥斕鼺iresliderz听and Taqueria El Azteca. Starting at 1 p.m., open house attendees can take advantage of free admission to the women鈥檚 basketball season-opening game against Cornerstone University鈥檚 JV team. Following the women鈥檚 game, the men鈥檚 basketball team will take the court against Washtenaw Community College, scheduled for an estimated 3 p.m. tipoff.听
The basketball games will听cap off a full day of activities and information, which Muilenburg hopes will leave visitors with听a lasting impression听of 亚洲色吧鈥檚 fun, friendly听culture.听
鈥淥ur focus is on academics, but we want to convey to the open house attendees that it is really fun on campus, too; there can be fun things if you allow yourself to see the fun,鈥� Muilenburg said. 鈥淲ith the addition of the basketball games, I hope they get to experience the excitement and what听it鈥檚 like to be a part of this听atmosphere.鈥�听
